Artist and filmmaker Gus Fink announced a free scavenger hunt in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter on Friday, July 24, from 4 to 8 p.m., timed with Comic-Con. No convention badge is required, according to the announcement.
Fink said 11 original Kreepy Cuddles sketches would be hidden at Gaslamp landmarks, with finders keeping the artwork. Photo clues were scheduled to post every 20 minutes on Instagram and TikTok at @gusfink, starting at 4 p.m. Each clue was described as leading back to Fink painting live on 5th Avenue between F and G Streets.
At 8 p.m., the announcement said Fink would finish and name a twelfth character in front of the crowd. The event also included a $500 giveaway and 100 San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Kreepy Cuddles collectibles at the easel while supplies last. Artist Emi Boz was listed as providing additional live coverage.
Kreepy Cuddles toys are sold at Spencer’s, Spirit Halloween, and Hot Topic, according to the announcement. Fink’s studio site is gusfinkstudios.com.
