LEGAL PROVISIONS
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (also called Terms of Use) govern access to and use of San Diego Press Releases, including accounts, press-release submissions, paid placements, and wallet credits.
Last updated: September 9, 2026
San Diego Press Releases is a press-release publication and distribution platform focused on San Diego. The service is operated by SANDIEGOPRESSRELEASES.COM (company or individual seller) (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account, submitting a release, or purchasing a plan, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Who these Terms apply to
These Terms apply to anyone who visits the site, creates an account, submits or edits a press release, or buys a publishing plan or wallet top-up. If you submit on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization. The service is intended for business and organizational publishers, not for children under 18.
2. The service
San Diego Press Releases lets you draft, submit, and (after editorial review) publish a press release as a public web page, with category, location, company, and author listings, and optional paid homepage or ticker placement. Free plans publish a permanent public release. Paid plans are a one-time publication and distribution service for a single release, not a physical product and not a recurring subscription unless we later offer one and you expressly purchase it.
We do not promise that publication will produce press coverage, search ranking, sales, or any particular number of readers. Search engines and third-party aggregators decide independently whether to index or syndicate a release.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration details and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. You may deactivate or delete your account from account settings, subject to our need to keep published records, invoices, and legally required data. We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms, our Editorial Standards, or applicable law.
4. Submissions and your warranties
When you submit a press release, you represent and warrant that:
- You are authorized to publish the material for the named organization.
- The content is factual, not defamatory, and does not infringe copyright, trademark, publicity, or privacy rights.
- Media contact details are real and intended to be published for journalist follow-up.
- The submission does not promote illegal products, hate, scams, adult sexual content involving minors, weapons, or other material we prohibit in the Editorial Standards.
- You have the rights to any images, video, or logos you upload.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, format, archive, display, index, and distribute the release and related media on the site and in feeds, sitemaps, and search previews for as long as the record remains published. You keep ownership of your content. We may edit formatting, headlines for house style, categories, or location tags, and we may refuse or retract a filing.
5. Editorial review and the public archive
Every submission is reviewed before it goes live. Review is typically completed within one business day, but timing is not guaranteed. We may decline, delay, request changes, unpublish, or retract material that fails our standards or that we reasonably believe creates legal, safety, or reputation risk. Approved releases are timestamped public records. Unpublishing or editing a live release does not guarantee removal from search engines, archives, or third-party copies.
6. Fees and taxes
Paid plan prices are shown on the pricing page at checkout. Featured placements (for example 24-hour or 7-day homepage or ticker placement) run for the stated duration after editorial approval. Card and similar payments are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Dodo Payments may collect applicable sales taxes or VAT and appear on your bank statement. Wallet top-ups add prepaid credit you can apply to a paid plan. We do not store full payment-card numbers.
7. Refunds
Fees are not refundable once a release is approved and published, because the publication service has then been performed. Full refunds apply if you cancel before approval, if we reject the filing, for duplicate or erroneous charges, and for unused wallet credit, as set out in the Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms.
8. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the site to publish spam, impersonation, malware, or deceptive claims.
- Interfere with the site, scrape in a way that harms the service, or attempt unauthorized access.
- Submit content that violates law or our Editorial Standards.
- Use another person’s account without permission.
We may remove content and suspend accounts to protect readers, the newsroom, and payment processors including Dodo Payments.
9. Our intellectual property
The San Diego Press Releases name, design, software, and original newsroom materials are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy the platform, scrape it for a competing wire, or use our marks without permission, except for fair use of a published release you own.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is.” We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, error-free software, or that published material is complete or suitable for any particular purpose. Press releases are the submitter’s statements, not our journalism, unless we expressly say otherwise. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, reputational harm, or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the service or a published or rejected release. Our total liability for a claim relating to a paid purchase is limited to the amount you paid us for that purchase in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limit is not allowed.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us and our staff against claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your content, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of someone else’s rights.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page with a revised date. Continued use after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms for future use of the service.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that Dodo Payments’ checkout terms may apply to the payment contract between you and Dodo Payments. If a court finds a provision unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
15. Contact
