California Coast Credit Union said Newsweek gave it a five-star rating in the 2026 America’s Best Credit Unions ranking.

California Coast Credit Union said Newsweek named it one of America’s Best Credit Unions, with a five-star rating in the publication’s 2026 list.

According to Cal Coast, Newsweek reviewed financial health, operations, and member satisfaction at more than 9,000 institutions, plus more than 70,000 customer surveys, over one million social media reviews, and millions of app-store reviews. President and CEO Todd Lane said the ranking reflects member service and community programs.

The credit union said it was established by San Diego teachers in 1929 and is the longest-serving financial institution based in San Diego County, with more than $3 billion in assets, nearly 200,000 members, and 26 branches.
