Carlsbad Author Airie McCready Releases Debut Poetry Book 'Caught in a Cat Romance'

According to an announcement by Aber Stoat Publishing, Carlsbad-based author and cat enthusiast Airie McCready is launching her debut poetry collection, "Caught in a Cat Romance," on October 2, 2025. The book combines poetry, photography, and unique cat art to celebrate the deep emotional connection between people and their feline companions.

McCready, who has spent over two decades observing cat behavior, is well-known in the pet community for her dedication to hairless breeds like Sphynx and Devon Rex cats. She previously designed specialized cat apparel under the brands "Tattcats" and "Simple Sphynx" to help keep hairless cats warm. Her new book transitions her passion for felines into the literary world, offering readers a deeply personal look at pet ownership.

The collection has already garnered attention, receiving praise from Kirkus Reviews, which described it as a vulnerable and personal volume that captures the unique relationships pet owners build with their animals.

"Caught in a Cat Romance" is distributed by IngramSpark and is available in hardcover, paperback, and ebook formats. Local readers can find the book through major online retailers, including Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
