California Coast Credit Union launched the seventh Pack the Pantry virtual food drive, running through October 31, 2025, with donations matched up to $5,000.

California Coast Credit Union announced the seventh annual Pack the Pantry virtual food drive, running through October 31, 2025, to stock community college pantries in San Diego and Imperial counties.

According to Cal Coast, the drive is organized with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and local colleges. The credit union said every dollar provides two meals and that it would match donations up to $5,000. Donors can choose which campus pantry to support at calcoastcu.org/packthepantry. President and CEO Todd Lane said campus pantries have become a lifeline as food prices have risen.

Southwestern College president Dr. Mark Sanchez, speaking for SDICCCA, said many community college students are also parents, employees, and caregivers. San Diego Food Bank CEO Casey Castillo said the food bank would deliver food to participating colleges after the fundraiser. SDICCCA includes Southwestern, San Diego, Grossmont-Cuyamaca, Palomar, MiraCosta, and Imperial Valley colleges.
